Administrative Professional and School Nurse Appreciation Day

Because my blog focuses on my scrapbooking and cardmaking, I don't think that I've ever mentioned the fact that I'm a fifth-grade teacher!

Why do I mention this today?  Well, because this is the day that our school is combining both Administrative Professional Day and School Nurse Appreciation Day.  Each grade-level team is getting our school nurse, secretary, and attendance clerk a well-deserved gift - flowers from one team, movie passes from another, coffee beverages from still another, and so forth.  Our team is giving these indispensable gals gift certificates for a relaxing treat - pedicures at a neighborhood nail salon.

And that brings us to... what else?  Cardmaking!

I made these cards to put the gift certificates in:

Inside, I made a magenta envelope to put the gift certificate, topped it with a flower, and used my trusty red super sticky tape to make a pocket at the bottom of the card to hold the envelope.  Here's what each card looks like inside:

Ingredients:
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Flowers:  Sizzix Flower Layers #4
Stamps:  DeNami Design Solid Decorative Crest, Medium Thank You Circle, Sweet Treat Blocks stamp set, Everyday Greetings stamp set, and Heartfelt Greetings stamp set
Ink: Memento in Paris Dusk and Rich Cocoa; and ColorBox Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye in Creamy Brown, Chestnut Roan, and Blue Iris
Rhinestones and pearls:  Kaiser Craft
Ribbon:  DeNami Design
Other:  Marvy 2.5" Scallop Circle Punch,  Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, and Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch

Not coincidentally, I've used the color scheme of the current DeNami Design Color Challenge #7 - chocolate, kraft, white, navy, and magenta.  Here is their inspiration palette:

If you haven't visited the challenge blog post yet, there's still time - and it's a web-visit well worth the effort - the Design Team's samples are absolutely gorgeous!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

Cath Kidston inspired card

This week's Play Date Cafe Challenge 78 combines red, light blue, and pink in a playful color scheme reminiscent of Cath Kidston's fun and fabulous designs:

Here is my card:

I used DeNami Design's Solid Scallop Dot Rectangle to create the background panel.

For the sentiment, I stamped Thanks inside the Whimsical Oval Frame, colored it then applied 3D Crystal Lacquer to add shine and dimension, bordered it with sky blue pearls,  cut it out with the 3" Marvy Scallop Oval punch, and popped it up a bit with foam squares.

And here is a closer look:

Ingredients:
Cardstock:  Bazzill and DeNami Design
Pompom trim: from Paper Vineyard's ribbon cabinet
Stamps:  DeNami Design and My Little Shoebox
Ink: Memento in Angel Pink and Summer Sky; ColorBox Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye in Lipstick Red; and Copic Marker in RV21 Light Pink
3D Crystal Lacquer:  Sakura
Rhinestones:  Kaiser Craft
Scallop Oval Punch: Marvy

Thank you for taking a peek!  Have a terrific Tuesday!  :o)
