Le Cirque

This week our design assignment at Paper Vineyard was to create a circus-themed project using Graphic 45 products.

Now, to tell you the truth, I've always been a little creeped out by the circus.  Thank goodness the papers from Graphic 45 are so pretty they helped me overcome my phobia long enough to design this card:

I've really been enjoying tags lately.  They add dimension and provide the opportunity to add another sentiment - or they simply serve as another vehicle for displaying more pretty paper!  Here is a picture of the same card with the tag partially pulled out:

Here is a closeup of my flower.  The metal, paper, and ink work really well together!

Thank you for visiting. :o)  Have a terrific Tuesday!

Springtime Bling in Blues and Purples

Today I created a project that fits the bill for two challenges:  Play Date Cafe Challenge 47  and DeNami Design Product Challenge #7.

Here is the very bright, very springy inspiration picture from PDCC 47:

Participants were charged with the task of creating a project using only the palette shown here - blue and purple with white and green.  In the DeNami challenge, we are supposed to incorporate a favorite blingy embellishment of mine:  rhinestones!  (My order of DeNami rhinestones is on its way, but in the meantime I pulled some bling out of my current stash.)

And here is my card inspired by the challenges:

Here is a shot of the tag pulled partially out of the little pocket envelope I made:

Cardstock and rhinestones: Bazzill
Chipboard Alphas: American Crafts Thickers
Diecut bird, vines, and flowers:  Sizzix
Pearls:  Kaiser Craft and We R Memory Keepers
Ink: ColorBox Blue Lagoon Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye and Memento Grape Jelly
Stamps:  DeNami Design Solid Scallop Dot Rectangle, Solid Decorative Crest, and Everyday Greetings
Gel Pens: Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic Blue, Green, and Purple
Ribbon:  My Mind's Eye blue and miscellaneous green grosgrain
Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

The theme in this week's Design Team assignment for Paper Vineyard was White Sale!  The challenge:  create a monochromatic white project.

Flowers: Prima Craftable
Glitter: Elizabeth Craft Design GlitterRitz in Warm Highlights and White

Crafting with LYB Twig

When I mentioned Jean Bradsher's super fun Twig class in yesterday's blog post, Margie H. very kindly asked for pictures!

So without further ado, here is a bit of what we made in class:

Aren't the Twig papers absolutely beautiful?  And the feel of the paper is almost fabric-like.  I have to admit, long before I signed up for this class, I bought a ton of the Twig goodies.  They are so pretty!

We actually made 8 cards, two each of four designs, but this was my favorite:

Paper and most embellishments: Little Yellow Bicycle "Twig" line
Cardstock: American Crafts
Frame: Woodline Works
Assorted ribbon, feather, eyelets, and trim
Have a super Sunday!

Baby Blues

Last week's Paper Vineyard assignment was to create a project featuring two new lines from My Mind's Eye - "Stella and Rose" and "Lush."

Something kind of fun that I included was a spin-off from a class I took a few weeks ago with Els of Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This talented designer showed us various embellishment techniques incorporating ink, glitter, and her beautiful filigree stickers.  Today I used four of her scrolled leaf stickers to create a butterfly, then embellished them with Smooch ink, Shimmerz Spritz, and glitter before adding pearl brads for the body:

Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned paper, brads, alpha stickers, charm, and stickers: My Mind's Eye "Stella and Rose" and Lush collections
ColorBox Smooch Nautical Navy pearlized accent ink
Shimmerz Spritz Rockafella Blue and Tuscan Sun
Font: Batang
Glitter: Ranger Stickles Aqua and GlitterRitz light gold
Stickers: Elizabeth Craft Designs pull-off scroll leaf and Starform glitter border
Charm clips: Tim Holtz

I hope you had a scrappy Saturday!  I sure did - starting with several hours of playing with Little Yellow Bicycle's adorable Twig paper and embellishments.  Jean Bradsher showed us how to make her adorable picture frame along with four different cards.  They all turned out adorable!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and have a wonderful weekend!
